Sunday, November 20th from 10-2pm at the Round Barn Farm, approximately 40 vendors (local farms, food and gifts for the holidays vendors) will “set  up shop” for 4  hours for Valley shoppers.

Purchase your Thanksgiving food needs (talk about fresh and local), gifts for the holidays, lovely items to decorate your home with, and more in a beautiful, warm, festive environment with live music and good food to eat while you shop.

If you’ve been to this market in the last two years, you know what I’m talking about. If not, you don’t want to miss it.

A number of vendors have contacted me about whether or not I am organizing this year’s Thanksgiving market at the Round Barn Farm. Though I’d like to, we still haven’t worked out the issue of my being covered with liability insurance as the organizer. As soon as that is resolved, I will post here again to let folks know, as time is ticking… Thanks for your patience.

The fresh flower season has come to a close.

What a great season it was. Now it’s time to refocus on my green living business (http://www.greenlivingnow.com),
my massage therapy and life coaching businesses.

I’ve also made some lovely healing gifts, such as home made bath salts with therapeutic grade essential oils,   healing stone jewelry, and homemade apple crisp and squash breads, available at Hartshorn Farm Stand.

I’m thinking about creating my own line of vegetable based shampoos and soaps with the therapeutic essential oils. What do you think? Is there any interest in those kinds of products locally made?

Now that traffic has slowed down around town after Labor Day, and hopefully traffic picks up around the farm with foliage season, I’ve relocated the flowers back to the home farm.

CSA members, you can come pick up your flowers at Hartshorn Farm now instead of the little flower stand downtown. (You already know this though as I just emailed you today).

Also, I’ve got some unique items that are available at the farmer’s market and will be available at the farm soon for the Fall.

Table top gardens with gnomes were quite popular at the Labor Day market.

And, I’m creating some long lasting dried flower arrangements and potpourri.

I’ve sold all but one of my needle felted wool veggies. Time to make more…

Dave and I are going to be at Taste of the Valley again this year up at Sugarbush (5:30pm-8:00). Last year’s blueberry ice cream with blueberry basil sauce was quite the crowd pleaser. We hope to dazzle your taste buds tonight with organic blueberry fritters and organic tempura veggies.

We’ll also have some of my flower bouquets on the table, of course.

Just opened the flower stand in downtown Waitsfield across from Clearwater Sports. Monday-Thursday noon-5pm for those looking for flowers during the week.

We will also have some of Dave’s yummy organic produce (blueberries this week) and corn is on it’s way in about one week or so.

Come say “hi”, meet the resident woodchuck and see what we’ve got going on at the downtown location.

We got early sunflowers from our cold frame greenhouse, as well as sweet peas and larkspur.  The peonies are a perennial, as most of you probably know, that comes back every year.

Next week, we should see our first snapdragons and zinnias. So, you can expect to see some very colorful bouquets at the farmer’s market on Saturday as well as at the farm stand and my little flower stand across from Clearwater Sports in downtown Waitsfield.

With my CSA, you are getting ten beautiful organic cut flower bouquets (starting around July 1) for $100.

They will retail at the farmer’s market, farmstand, and my special downtown Waitsfield flower location, across from Clearwater Sports on Main Street in Waitsfield, for $12-$15 per bouquet.

So, you can save between $20-$50 for the season with the CSA. Doesn’t that make good sense?
